Born in 1955, Dr. A.K.Grover was graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, New
Delhi in 1976 and completed his post graduation at Dr. Rajendraprasad Centre for
Ophthalmic Science, all India Institute of Medical sciences in 1980. He had been
serving Maulana Azad Medical College under various capacities as faculty, associate
professor and chief – oculoplastic services till 1992.
Since 1992 Dr. A.k. Grover has been
a senior consultant and now the chairman, department of ophthalmology and board
member of management at Sri Ganga Ram Hospital. He has been bestowed many
national and international awards, including the Padmasree award by the govt. of India,
honorary FRCS degree by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) et al.
A member of various national and international bodies, he is extremely active in the
social sphere participating in a number of charitable activities in eye care.
Dr. Babu Rajendran
Dr. Babu Rajendran, Medical Director and Vice President, The Eye Rsearch Foundation,
Chennai
Born in October 1945, Dr. Babu Rajendran, completed his M.B.B.S and MS in 1971 and
1975 respectively. He underwent an Advanced training in diseases and surgery of the
Vitreous & Retina and Microsurgery of the eye at the University of Melbourne,
Australia. He has been offering hios servive at various hospitals as Kasturba Medical
College, Manipal, Sankara Nethralaya, Apollo Hospitals, Joseph Eye Hospital, Trichy etc.
He has got rich experience as a teacher of ophthalmology. He has been a member of
various boards and councils and is a recipient of a number of awards. He has to his
credit176 papers and presentations in national and international journals and
conferences. He has authored several chapters in ophthalmic books and is the coauthor
of a book on 3D OCT. He has got some records to his credit:
First to do LASER on a human being in any medical specialty in this country
-1978
First to give an audiovisual presentation in any medical specialty in this country
-1988
First to computerize an Ophthalmic setup in this country

Dr. Sourav Sinha
Dr Sourav Sinha completed his MBBS in 1994 and MS in Ophthalmology in 1998
from Kasturba Medical College at Mangalore. He underwent a fellowship in
Vitreoretinal Surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.He was appointed as
Associate Consultant at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in 2000. In 2005, he was
deputed to Rotary Narayana Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata as Clinical Incharge. He
then went on to become the Medical Director of Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata in
2007.
He has been in exclusive VR practice since mid 2008 at BB Eye Foundation,
Kolkata and is now in the process of setting up the Kolkata Retina Foundation,
as one of its units.
He has publications in peer reviewed journals. He is also a reviewer for Indian
Journal of Ophthalmology and is on the Scientific and Journal committees of
Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal. Endophthalmitis and Diabetic
Retinopathy are his areas of special interest.
Dr. V. Siddhartan
Dr. V. Siddhartan, Medical Director and Chief Ophthalmologist, TMS Eye Hospital,
Salem
After completing his DO and MS in 1983 and 1986 from Madras Medical College, Dr. V.
Siddhartan underwent specialized training in ophthalmic microsurgery, fellowship in
Vitreo-Retinal Diseases and Laser Therapy, Corneal Transplant and Eye Banking, Suture
less cataract surgery and Phaco emulsification and Low vision Aid and Management of
low vision. He has been a member of various national and international ophthalmic
councils. He is the author of the books, Kan Nalam and Ungal Paarvaiku. He has been
awarded the “Outstanding Young person in the field of Medicine” by Salem Metro
Jaycees – 1990. TMS Eye Hospital is the only I S O 9001-2000 certified eye hospital in
Salem.
