For close on five years friends and close partners of Aravind had discussed the importance of making a film on Dr Venkataswamy and his life's work. Several filmmakers, funding agencies and production companies, in India and the United States were approached. All of them were interested, but none of them able to commit to the project because of time or financial constraints.

In the last week of January 2003, Aravind decided to go in-house with the film using a crew made up entirely of volunteers.

The wonder woman who can do anything she sets her mind and her heart to. She makes incredible adobe houses, ponds and pottery, paintings and her own granola. A year ago she said, ' You know Pavi I've never made a documentary so I don't know how it goes, but I figure it must be like building a house. And the way I see it, sure, you can hire people to do the work for you but- why let someone else have all the Fun? Why indeed.

Ayla Gustafson - Final year film and communications major from U Penn, Co-producer, Editor & Cinematographer Infinite Vision.
A gifted visual artist with an incredible eye for things beautiful, enduring and Real. She turned up at Aravind with her camera, laptop, two sample short films, and one question: ' Is there something I can help out with for the next three months?' … More than a year later Ayla's three months still aren't up. Pavithra Krishnan - English major trained in broadcast journalism, Writer, Producer, Director Infinite Vision.
She once heard somewhere that we can change the world by changing the stories we tell. Through the process of making this documentary she learned to call herself and not the film "a work-in-progress". Dr V is her grand-uncle and his story one of her biggest inspirations. (more)

A musician with a unique and generous spirit, whose music sings the soul of this story so truly it is hard to believe he has not set eyes on Dr V or foot at Aravind …yet :. His contribution to this project reminds us that the world can still depend on 'the kindness of strangers'.
