RAHUL GANDHI SPENDS AN EVENING WITH AMETHI HOSPITAL STAFF
Amethi, July 27
Amidst the busy political schedules Mr. Rahul Gandhi found time to call for a dinner with the IGEHRC staff. He reached the guest house around 8.00pm after his day long travel through his constituency. There was a crowd of 60 to 70 people awaiting him excluding the officials from the near by areas. He finished all his pre-occupancies and joined us for the meeting at 9.00pm along with Mr. Kanishka Singh, Mr. Manoj Muttu, Mr. Sachin and Ms. Vijaya Moorti which was followed by dinner. All the doctors and staff of IGEHRC were present. It was the request from Mr. Rahul Gandhi that he wanted all the support staff also to be present for the dinner.
The meeting began with the half yearly performance report read by Mr. Diljo Thomas, following which Mr. Rahul Gandhi asked Mr. Manoj Muttu one of the trustees of RGCT to comment on the performance, culture and spirit of the hospital staff. Mr. Muttu congratulated the staff members of the hospital and talked on the achievements in terms of vision restoring surgeries and the number of camps performed by the hospital.
Mr. Rahul Gandhi asked the staff for their comments. Few of the MLOP sisters thanked him for the right decision taken by him to start the hospital in collaboration with Aravind Eye Care System. Mr. Rahul Gandhi said that he is proud to realize the impact of the good work done by the staff of IGEHRC and he continued “I feel happy, whenever I see people wearing the Black spectacles after surgery in the community”. He continued, “I am not seeing an Eye Hospital in our hospital, but I see a laboratory to show the people of UP and to the world that the real spirit, culture and the dedication can make a difference for the society”.
During the dinner he was interacting with the sisters, doctors and other supportive staff. He stood with everybody for the photograph. He enjoyed the food and appreciated the catering staff. In between Rahulji recollected the moments he spent with Dr. V and everybody started sharing their experiences with our beloved Chief. Those who couldn’t get the opportunity to meet Dr. V were silent, hearing the stories.
He was impressed with the statistical growth and the impact of the hospital in the society for the last one and half years. He spent around one and half hours with us. Everybody enjoyed his presence and the inspiring words of Mr. Rahul Gandhi. The meeting was winded up by around 10.30 pm to 11.00 pm.
All the staff of IGEHRC were highly inspired and motivated after talking to him and hearing him about the impression of the work they are doing with him. He wished us Good Luck, we all at IGEHRC thank him for sparing time for us and for working to bring in much better results than before.
