ARAVIND EYE HOSPITAL - COIMBATORE
In response to the increasing demand for eye care from patients in the northwestern part of Tamilnadu, Aravind opened its third satellite hospital at Coimbatore in 1997. It is situated very close to the bordering states of both Kerala and Karnataka. The hospital serves a population of 27.1 million people across all three states. The hospital facilities accommodate 177 paying patients and 600 free patients. The hospital has experienced rapid growth in all aspects in a very short span of time.
Aravind - Coimbatore handled 606,478 outpatient visits and performed 81,310 surgeries from April 2010- March 2011.
